Original Echizen washi note cards
This note card is made of "flower-coloured washi paper," characterised by its soft colour, texture, and gentle transparency. It is designed with particular attention to the comfort of writing and is finished with tasteful letterpress printing. Each sheet is carefully printed by skilled artisans in our factory, showcasing delicate floral patterns.
Soft colours are created by yarn dyeing.
Using our original yarn-dyed Echizen washi paper, "Hanairo Washi", the milky white colour of "lace flowers" - a cloud of tiny petals - is transferred to the washi paper.
[What is yarn dyeing?] A method of dyeing the fibres before the paper is spun. The deep colours are characterised by the fact that the material is dyed firmly from the material stage.
Comes with an envelope with a floral pattern
The envelope features a delicate, scattered floral pattern and a light grey interior, which helps conceal the written contents from view.
The letter paper features a spacious layout that effectively utilises the floral pattern and the colour of the washi paper, and is a dual-purpose type that can be used for both vertical and horizontal writing.
The flowers on the packaging, note card, and envelope are the work of illustrator Megumi Sasaki. The flower illustrations, drawn with meticulous detail and a soft touch, lend a gentle appearance to the pale-coloured washi paper.
